OK-RM & Lila Matsumoto — The Very Nature of Materiality is an Entanglement
About
A book by OK-RM and Lila Matsumoto that reports on five Enquiries into collective making, carried out between 2021 and 2024.
Goldwin 0 commissioned the project as part of a residency OK-RM held over several years. Dancers, musicians, architects, researchers, artists and designers were brought together to try out new ways of working and making as a group. The results took many forms, among them sculpture, music, film, performance, poetry, images and publications.
The book's approach to publication and design is guided by orchestration, meaning one project put together from many choreographed parts. It is printed in silver and built as one circular object, which the publisher presents as an open-ended, non-linear read. This revised edition followed a year after the project's propositions were first put into circulation. It is published by InOtherWords, the imprint Oliver Knight and Rory McGrath of OK-RM founded in 2015.
InOtherWords, 2025. 296 pages, softcover, 11 x 17.5 cm. Revised edition of 2,000 copies.
