System — Issue 25
About
Issue 25 of System, the twice-yearly magazine of long-form conversations with leading figures in fashion, for spring/summer 2026. The cover story is given over to Jonathan Anderson and his opening year at Dior.
Time runs through the issue. Anderson's references at Dior range from Chardin's eighteenth-century paintings to Warhol portraits and the campaign pictures he now makes with David Sims. He is interviewed by Tim Blanks and talks with Jennifer Lawrence, Magdalene Odundo and Yorn Michaelsen, who assisted Christian Dior on design in the 1950s, with portraits by Juergen Teller. Sims photographs the Dior spring/summer 2026 couture, styled by Benjamin Bruno, and the two join Anderson for a further conversation.
Amanda Harlech talks to Jerry Stafford about a career that runs from John Galliano's early collections to her long spell at Chanel beside Karl Lagerfeld, in a portfolio Teller shot at Glyn Cywarch, the Harlech family's seventeenth-century seat in north Wales. Olivia Singer interviews Miguel Castro Freitas, now in charge at Mugler, alongside a scrapbook of his personal archive images, and Jonathan Wingfield writes on Will Welch and GQ. There are also letters from London, New York and Mumbai, and Gemma A. Williams on ARCHIVISM, which presents vintage luxury to a new audience in China.
