Permanent Style — Issue 3
About
The third issue of Simon Crompton's menswear magazine, dated Spring/Summer 2026 and devoted mainly to France.
Permanent Style appears twice a year, in April and October, as the printed counterpart to Crompton's website: selected articles are carried over and enlarged with new photography, next to pieces and illustrations made for print alone.
The cover story is an interview with the founders of the French magazine L'Etiquette about menswear today and the way a culture shows itself in how people dress. Marcos Eliades writes a short history of Parisian tailoring, and there is a guide to shops in Paris. Away from France, the issue tours the traditional craftspeople still working in Britain, visits garment workshops in India and looks back over the history of car design. Other subjects include knitted T-shirts, vintage Stone Island, bleu de travail, jelly sandals, mending in America and the Ford Capri, and there are profiles of readers.
Permanent Style, Spring/Summer 2026. 137 pages, softcover.
