JB Blunk Cups, Plates, Bowls & Sculptures: Ceramics 1950–1999
About
The third edition of a newsprint book on JB Blunk's ceramics, covering five decades from 1950 to 1999.
Blunk was a California artist who worked in wood, stone, clay, cast bronze, jewellery and paint. He did not keep sculpture and furniture apart and had little use for fixed categories, an outlook the publisher connects with the Japanese habit of treating art and craft as one field. This small volume concentrates on his clay: cups, plates and bowls shown alongside sculpture.
Åbäke and Mariah Nielson edited the book and Åbäke designed it. Compared with the second edition of 2017, this printing has a new cover picture and a somewhat smaller page size. The same editors are behind the larger JB Blunk monograph, which Dent-De-Leone co-published with Blunk Books.
Dent-De-Leone, 2019. 64 pages, newsprint, 17 x 25 cm. Third edition. In English.
