commons&sense — Issue 69

The Autumn-Winter 2025 issue of commons&sense, the Tokyo fashion magazine Kaoru Sasaki founded in 1997.

Issued by CUBE and distributed by Kawade Shobo Shinsha, it comes out twice a year, at the end of February and the end of August, and is on sale in fifteen countries, in 28 cities. The magazine began at postcard size, moved to A5, and has used a variant of A4 since issue 20.

Issue 69 is titled I JUST WANNA BE SO STRONG AND I JUST WANNA BE SO KIND. The editors add that they dislike conflict and want peace, and the idea behind the issue is that kindness first needs strength. Fashion stories come from Valentino, Celine and Emporio Armani, with jewellery by Boucheron, and a feature on works symbolising red shows Yayoi Kusama items bearing her polka dots and pumpkins.
