El Croquis — Issue 232: Smiljan Radić
About
An issue of the Spanish architecture magazine El Croquis given over to the Chilean architect Smiljan Radić and his work from 2019 to 2025.
Radić was born in Santiago in 1965 and set up his own practice there in 1995, after studies in Chile and in Venice. He designed the 2014 Serpentine Pavilion in London, and MoMA in New York holds the full archive of his Casa para el Poema del Ángulo Recto in Vilches.
A biography comes first, then a short text by Radić and a conversation between him and Christian Kerez. The projects that follow include London Sky Bubble at Tobacco Dock and at the Old Royal Naval College, the Guatero and Drops installations, the Secret Garden Pavilion, a project for Alexander McQueen, houses in Rupanco and Bali, the Solo and Stina Hermitage hotels, the NUMU museum, a project for the Montjuïc fairground in Barcelona and a site museum for the Dilmun burial mounds. An essay by Enrique Walker, Pavilion, is placed among the projects. Headings and texts are printed in Spanish and English.
El Croquis, 2025. 328 pages, softcover, 24 x 34 cm.
