Christian Marclay — Index
About
Christian Marclay, Index, Edition Patrick Frey, 2021
1,200 pages of the photocopies Marclay makes before he makes anything else.
Marclay works by sampling: sounds, film clips, found images. The photocopier is his sketchbook, and this book collects 600 of the high contrast black and white Xeroxes that feed the collages. 'I cut and paste and use my photocopier as a quick way to experiment and develop ideas,' he says.
The raw archive of the man who made The Clock.
1,200 pages, softcover.
