Roni Horn — Her, Her, Her, & Her

A sequence of 120 black-and-white photographs of a Reykjavik locker room.

From one frame to the next the camera hardly shifts, and Horn worked with slow shutter speeds. The clues to the place are slight: doors open and shut, room numbers, corridors that cross, and a blur in a doorway that hints at someone else in the room. Across the pages, time and viewpoint drift by small degrees, and the pictures carry a sculptor's attention to surface, repetition and form.

Horn (born New York, 1955) works across photography, sculpture, drawing and books. She also designed the book, and the plates are printed full-bleed on matte paper.
