Takashi Homma — My Nice T-Shirts
About
Number 50 in the Hato Press zine series: Takashi Homma looks back over T-shirts he has made across his career, reproduced in Risograph.
Six shirts are covered. They include collaborations with ARTS&SCIENCE (a pocket T-shirt carrying Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji), Treelikeswater and LIFiLL x Numero Tokyo, and a shirt for the Sado Island Galaxy Art Festival 2022. The others are his own NEW DOCUMENTARY and Sokkyo (Revolution 9) shirts. Screenshots from social media are placed among the pictures. Those featured include Gongwon, Chisato Tabuchi, Park Sokki, Tokuko Ushioda and Anna, the last photographed by Tyrone Lebon; styling is by Takanohvskaya.
Homma was born in Tokyo and works there. In 1984 he gave up his studies at Nihon University of Art for a photographer's job at an advertising agency, and in 1991 he went to London to shoot in-house for i-D.
The zine comes in two colourways, blue and pink, with the same images and artworks in each.
