About

The Spring/Summer 2026 issue of Crosscurrent, a magazine of fashion, art, architecture and ideas published twice a year since 2022, built around the theme of proximity.

Clarke Rudick is editor-in-chief and creative director, and Emily Schofield is art director and designer. This issue looks at small communities that are thriving and argues for closeness and real intimacy as a counter to the distance of life online. Mark Borthwick photographs Luca Guadagnino walking through Paris in the rain, and the film-maker talks about his work and his next film, Artificial. There is also a profile of the British painter Cecily Brown, written before her show at Serpentine South.

The fashion pages hold four stories, among them the model Malin Rudnick photographed by Anders Edström and Danny Reed, Michael Rider's second collection for Celine shot by Ola Rindal and Vanessa Reid, and Jonah Paz in clothes by The Row. Roos Van Bosstraeten also appears. Vince Aletti chooses ten of the books he values most and receives a visit from his old friend Duane Michals, Caroline Sydney contributes an essay in defence of utopian thinking, and Olivia Reavey, a student at the Yale School of Art, has a photography portfolio. The issue was printed with several covers.

Crosscurrent, Spring/Summer 2026. 248 pages, softcover, 23.5 x 30 cm.
