A Magazine Curated By — A Manual For Living Curated for Nike
About
A special publication from A Magazine Curated By, made with Nike and set out as a workbook for the reader to write in.
Each regular issue of the magazine is given over to a single fashion designer. This one, the sixth in the publisher's separate Curated For series, turns to Nike, and to how the company's thinking about body and mind could carry over into life outside sport. The pages fall into five parts: Mind, Body, Soul, Desire, Imagination. Interviews and photo stories alternate with exercises, among them a quiz pairing colour with personality and a listening test built on sequences of sound.
Hans Ulrich Obrist talks with Martin Lotti, who heads design at Nike; the neuroscientist Poppy Crum with Matthew Nurse, the company's chief science officer; and Ashton Eaton, twice an Olympic champion, with Tobie Hatfield, who designed prototype spikes for him. Other features deal with the look of sportswear, with timekeeping in performance, and with the land art of Lita Albuquerque, which follows the Fibonacci sequence. Contributors also include Naomi Osaka, Megan Rapinoe, Sue Bird and Laurie Hernandez, the photographer Bobby Doherty and the writer Geoff Manaugh.
Blake Abbie is editor-in-chief and Mike Meiré art director. It was launched during Milan Design Week 2026 with an evening at Drop City, as part of NikeAir_Lab.
