Purple — Issue 45: The New Glamour Issue

Purple 45, The New Glamour Issue, for spring/summer 2026, which treats glamour less as polish than as an attitude and a way of presenting oneself.

The issue sets theory beside fashion. Emanuele Coccia writes on the spell of glamour and Simon Liberati on its revolutionary origins, alongside Susan Sontag's "Notes on Camp", Roland Barthes's "The Face of Garbo" and Jean Baudrillard on seduction, with contributions from Patti Smith and AA Bronson. Olivier Zahm interviews Anthony Vaccarello, Miguel Adrover, Francesco Vezzoli and Betony Vernon, and designers including Junya Watanabe, Rachel Scott, Nicolas Di Felice, Vaquera and Duran Lantink contribute short notes on glamour.

Fashion stories include Saint Laurent by Inez and Vinoodh, Prada by Torbjørn Rødland, Balenciaga with Mona Tougaard by Davit Giorgadze and Loewe by Joshua Woods, along with portraits of Charlotte Rampling by Katerina Jebb. Features on artists take in Andy Warhol, Marcel Duchamp, Claude Cahun, Pierre Molinier, Jack Smith and Barbara Hepworth. The issue comes with 17 different covers, among them Laurie Simmons, Linder Sterling and Paloma Elsesser for Paris Texas.
