David Horvitz — Other People
About
David Horvitz, Other People, RVB Books, 2025
Horvitz ran his own face through facial recognition software and collected the strangers it insisted were him.
448 pages of algorithmic mistaken identity, a self portrait made entirely of other people. The project draws on East German border guard training materials for comparing faces, held in the Wende Museum archive, and asks who profits from image databases built without consent. English and French.
A brick of a book at 8.8 by 12.5 centimeters.
