Bureau for Listening — Listen to the book while burning it. Collect the ashes as a recording of it
About
A performative zine by Bureau for Listening, the Danish artist and research collective. Its title doubles as the instruction for what to do with it.
The bureau was founded in 2021 by Lukas Quist Lund, who trained in applied philosophy and art history, the performance designer Amalie Sejersdahl and the scriptwriter Randi Lindholm Hansen. It works nomadically and across disciplines, and approaches listening as something critical, empathic and artistic all at once. Its publications are intended to invite touch and attention and to offer small pauses for reflection.
This zine came out of a series of listening performances. It was self-published in Copenhagen in August 2024.
Bureau for Listening, 2024. Edition of 50 numbered copies.
