Emergence Magazine — Volume 1
About
The first annual print volume of Emergence Magazine, the online magazine on ecology, culture and spirituality launched in spring 2018.
It brings together work first published in the magazine's first four online issues: essays, poems, photo essays and stories adapted from multimedia pieces. Among the writers are Robin Wall Kimmerer, Joy Harjo, Linda Hogan, Paul Kingsnorth, Bayo Akomolafe and David Abram, and there are interviews with Joanna Macy and Martin Shaw. The photographers include Edward Burtynsky, Andreas Gefeller, Bear Guerra, Diane Barker and Gabriela Torres Ruiz.
Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee, Seanna Quinn and Bethany Ritz edited the volume, and Studio Airport designed it, using several paper stocks and spot colours. At the European Design Awards it was named Best Magazine. The publisher lists it as out of print.
Emergence Magazine. 296 pages, softcover, 21.5 x 28.2 cm. In English.
