Double — Issue 51

The Spring/Summer 2026 issue of Double, the Paris fashion biannual, built around the theme 'Transaction'.

Coming after the fiftieth, anniversary issue, number 51 looks at the give and take of mutual obligation in trade, culture and social life. Lisa Donneson, a photographer based in Brooklyn, poses as her own double. Tsuyoshi Ozawa, the Japanese artist, talks to Lotta Volkova about Vegetable Weapons, a series in which farm produce is recast as weaponry to reflect on food in wartime. Korakrit Arunanondchai, the Thai artist, and Pierre-Alexandre Mateos discuss how loosely the limits of his work are drawn, and the installation artist Shahryar Nashat also contributes. There are further conversations with the curator Caroline Bourgeois, the artist Iris Touliatou and the gallerist Chantal Crousel, and photographs by Anders Edström and Alasdair McLellan, among others.

As usual for Double, the magazine is wider than it is tall. The front cover is embossed and picked out in gold foil, and inside, some stories are read like a flip-book and others turned like a memo pad. Fabrice Paineau is editor-in-chief and art directs with Jérémy Vitté.
