Donald Judd Writings
About
Donald Judd Writings, Judd Foundation and MACK, 2025
More than a thousand pages of Donald Judd in his own words, in a book narrow enough for a coat pocket.
The collection runs from 1958 to 1993: the art reviews he wrote for hire, famous essays like Specific Objects and Complaints I and II, texts that first came out in limited editions and then were hard to find, letters, and manuscripts he never published.
Three essays from his student years at Columbia appear in print for the first time. The publisher says they hold "the seeds of his later writing". Hundreds of notes, transcribed from his handwriting, record his reactions to the politics of his time and to the books he admired most.
Flavin Judd and Caitlin Murray edited it. The first edition, from 2016 with David Zwirner Books, is out of print. This is the 2025 edition from Judd Foundation and MACK, bound in silkscreened linen.
MACK calls it the most complete collection of his writing so far.
Silkscreened linen paperback, 1,056 pages, 10.8 by 18.4 cm. English. Available online and in our shop at Vester Voldgade 106, Copenhagen.
